This book is an absolute bargain. Barron’s walks you through the theories behind each core area of the ASVAB and, rather than having practice questions all come at the end, integrates them into each chapter so that you can check your progress along the way. Each section is very detail-oriented, ensuring that you won’t miss anything you might encounter on the exam. The book comes with four full-length exams, two additional exams on an included CD and an unusually thorough guide to the “assembling objects” component of the exam, one of the hardest to master. There’s also a section on analyzing your scores once you’ve taken the exam, and to see how your aptitudes will prepare you for (or hinder you from) various military career paths. Unfortunately, this book doesn’t come with flashcards or diagrams, so you might want to supplement your studies with another book on our list.

Gracias REPASO ASVAB, Inc.

Memorizar el orden de las operaciones matemáticas. Comenzar a trabajar todo entre paréntesis. A continuación, pasar a exponentes. A continuación, realice ninguna multiplicación y división.
Very helpful and has good tests. The actual ASVAB is easier, which is a good thing. Prepare and practice with harder tests and a study guide like this, and you will do well. Just give yourself plenty of time to study. Ideally at least a week at minimum. If I recall I practiced with this for 2 weeks. I scored 93 on AFQT. I was quite a few years removed from high school too, so I had to relearn some of this stuff. Others, I learned for the first time.
If you are pressed for time, it may be worthwhile to look into future ASVAB test dates in order to plan ahead in case you get a poor score on your upcoming ASVAB test. You can check with your high school counselor or your military recruiter to make sure that you will be eligible to take future tests along with your planned upcoming test date in the event that you get a bad ASVAB score.

ASVAB CEP test results are sent to students’ schools so they can explore career options with counselors. The scores show how well the student did on each subject, and how they compare with others who took the test. There are three composite scores in Verbal, Math, and Science and Technical skills, and the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) score is also reported.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) , takes approximately three hours, covers eight subjects and is composed of 200 questions. The ASVAB CEP is currently a pen and paper test. If it is offered by their school, high school students can take the ASVAB CEP test in grades 10, 11 and 12. They can only take it at the high school they attend, unless special arrangements are made.

The General Science section of the test covers earth, space, and physical and life sciences. Because science is such a vast and dynamic topic, focus your study on basic principles. This gives you a good foundation to work through any question that is asked of you. Typical questions may include: “Why is air less dense than water?” or “How do you convert Celsius temperature to Fahrenheit?” The CAT-ASVAB test asks 16 questions in 8 minutes, while the pencil-and-paper version asks 25 questions in 11 minutes.

The ASVAB Study Guide and ASVAB flash cards will also include sample questions that are designed to be just like the ones you will see on the battery itself. With these in arsenal, you will be more ready and able to take on this exam and know that you have done your best. Be sure to give both the study guide and the flash cards an opportunity to work for you.
The Paragraph Comprehension section of the test measures your ability to read a passage and interpret the information contained within it. You may read a selection and be asked to interpret the author’s purpose, or what a particular word in the passage means, based on the context of the sentence where it appears. To help you better prepare for the exam, the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB practice test has passages of similar length and style to those on the actual ASVAB test. The CAT-ASVAB test has 11 questions in 22 minutes; the paper-and-pencil version has 15 questions in 13 minutes.
The ASVAB is routinely reviewed to eliminate any potential biases from questions and scoring. The exam underwent a major revision in 2002. Two years later, a renormalization of the percentile scoring system was performed to ensure that a 50 percent score represented performing better than 50 percent of all test takers. The 10-section ASVAB improves the matching of volunteers with available jobs and helps match job openings with qualified individuals.
